Medical:
- Call you insurance company to ask if there is anything special to do for a medical emergency while in China
- Sally Palic will be preparing a small emergency kit (bandaids, antiseptic creme, tums) for minor issues
- If you student takes medication or has an epipen, he/she will be responsible for carrying it and taking it as needed
- You may want to send something for stomach and digestive distress (immodium)
- Something for minor injury either ibuprofen or acetaminophen
Packing:
- Be sure to pack a hat, sunscreen and good sturdy walking shoes. Some days we will be doing a lot of walking and flip flops or sandals may not be a good choice.
- After reading information on the US Empassy website there were several warnings about picpockets.
- It was suggested not to use a backpack, but a bag that stays in front for better security.
- Have pockets that button or zip like cargo pants/shorts
- Weather is VERY hot so plan clothing accordingly.
- Students should bring their CFPMS ID card.
- Students should have something to read on the plane, ipod to listen to (already charged).
- There will be two beds in our hotel rooms - each with two students in a room.
- You may want to check Amazon for the plug adapter for China if bringing electronics(camera battery, ipod).
- Remember China has 220 service and our technology is 200 so be aware of that for electrical charging and you should have a step down adapter.
